Dundee Travel Active is a project that encourages residents of, or visitors to, Dundee to walk or cycle a little more to improve people's health and the environment.
At the moment, the project is concentrated in particular areas of Dundee: the city centre, Hilltown, Stobswell and West Park. If successful here, we hope to expand the work to the rest of the city.
We want everyone to get involved. We know that it is hard for some people to walk or cycle more but there are many benefits:Dundee Travel Active is mostly funded by the Scottish Government's Smarter Choices, Smarter Places programme to 2011. Dundee City Council, Tactran and local bus companies are also contributing.
Council funding is from existing budgets, so there is no additional cost to your Council Tax.
In order to get the most from Travel Active, please sign up to the site. It's free and you'll get access to some exciting features, including My Travel Active an online resource for recording your walking and cycling trips, setting goals and challenging your friends!
